Our “Jump Start” summer program is designed to provide instruction in a fun way so as to prepare our students for the start of the new school year. It's time for the Scholastic Book Fair Spring 2022!

Each year students in Grades 3-8 are given the opportunity to create poetry, prose, expository, illustrated writing, or artwork to submit to the Southern Lakes Advanced Learners Network (SLALN) for their writing project. This year's theme was "Unstoppable". The submitted pieces are judged at the district level, and the chosen pieces are published in our Lake Geneva Anthology booklet. Then, those pieces are judged by the SLALN to determine if they will be accepted into the Southern Lakes Anthology.

Preschool & 4-Year-Old Kindergarten Registration for the 2021-2022 School Year is now open!

Badger and the Lake Geneva Jt. #1 Schools will be offering e-registration again this summer beginning August 2, 2021. E-registration is a convenient approach to student registration which minimizes most of the paperwork collected at the August registration/open house events held at each of the schools. E-registration streamlines such things as picking up calendars, schedules, paying fees, filling out last-minute forms, etc. If you do not have a computer, each school will provide times when you may use theirs. Watch for more information on this coming soon.

As a result of community input and other health-related factors, face coverings will become optional for all students, staff, and visitors inside our schools and facilities effective Sunday, June 6, 2021.

Lake Geneva Schools received input from parents, employees, and the local community on how these individuals would like our school districts to move forward with our face covering (mask) policy for Summer School and the Fall of 2021. The survey was open from May 17, 2021 until May 21, 2021. The survey responses were taken into consideration as well as health recommendations and requirements.

As we conclude the 2020-2021 school year we are also in preparation for the 2021-2022 school year. We are proud that we were able to keep our schools open this year and are able to provide a healthy, safe environment for all. With that, we will see significant changes to the educational program offered to our students as we begin the 2021-2022 school year. We will be returning all students to an in-person, traditional model for the upcoming school year. We will no longer provide a live streamed option.

The Lake Geneva Schools (Lake Geneva Jt.#1 and Badger) will continue to require face coverings for all students and staff in grades 4K-12 until further notice. This is consistent with school board action taken to reopen our schools and is not dependent on legislative action.

All Wisconsin students, in Grades 3-8, will be participating in the Forward Exam assessment during the months of April and May. Third grade students will be tested in areas of English Language Arts (ELA), and mathematics. Fourth grade students will be tested in areas of ELA, mathematics, science, and social studies. Fifth grade students will be tested in the areas of ELA and mathematics. Below you will find information regarding our testing window:

Lake Geneva Schools will be offering FREE, new and improved meal boxes for ALL CHILDREN 18 and younger to provide meals for the break. Each meal box will consist of 5 Breakfasts, 5 Lunches, and Milk. Families have the option to pick-up 1 or 2 boxes of meals per child to assist with meals during Spring Break. Pick-up will be at Badger High School in the Front Entrance off of South Street on Thursday, March 25th from 3:30 - 5:15. Sign-up is required.

Dear Star Center Families, As principal of Star Center Elementary, it is my pleasure to welcome everyone back for another great school year. In these challenging times, you can be assured that we can not wait to see our students. We have been preparing for their return all summer. Our district has created a comprehensive Reopening Plan to address how we plan on keeping students safe and healthy at Star Center. State Superintendent Carolyn Stanford Taylor recognizes Star Center Elementary School as being among 107 schools in the state that received Wisconsin Title I School of Recognition honors in the 2019-2020 school year. The Schools of Recognition award is presented to schools leveraging federal Title I funding to provide additional resources and services to economically disadvantaged students. The staff and students of Star Center Elementary School earned an award for showing a high level of progression.

Students, Families, Staff & Lake Geneva Community, During these stressful times, let's ban together for a little fun! During the week of Monday, March 30 - Friday, April 3, participate in Lake Geneva Schools Virtual Spirit Days! We may be physically social distancing but let's use this activity to bring our school community together!

I hope that you received Dr. Gottinger's email on Saturday, March 15th, detailing the closing of Lake Geneva Joint #1 School District starting on Monday, March 16th. Star Center Elementary will be open on Monday, March 16th from 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM for staff to create their on-line learning plans and get resources ready to support their students learning. On Monday, March 16th from 1:00 PM - 3:30 PM we will open the school to families to allow them time to come to Star to gather resources their child may need during our online learning period. Online learning will begin on Wednesday, March 18th.

We have an enormous cause for celebration! Star Center Elementary was recently named a National Blue Ribbon School. This is a highly esteemed award! Star Center was one of six schools in the state of Wisconsin and one of 392 schools in the nation that received this honor and was recognized at a ceremony in Washington D.C. this past November. This past week I was able to make the trip to Washington D.C. to represent Star Center Elementary at the National Blue Ribbon Award Ceremony. Star Center is one of only 362 schools out of 135,000 public and private schools recognized by the U.S. Department of Education. Receiving this award validates the great work happening in the Lake Geneva School District. The 2019 Blue Ribbon Award precedes Star Center’s recent accomplishment of being a Five Star School, three years in a row! We can attribute this outstanding performance to our dedicated staff, our collaborative parents and our supportive community.

The Lake Geneva Lions Club donated to Star Center Elementary fifth grade financial literacy education program. This donation will be used to provide the fifth grade students of the 2019-2020 class with a financial literacy educational program, Junior Achievement (JA) BizTown. The fifth grade teachers at Star Center, the staff of JA BizTown, and DeeDee Giovingo and her FCCLA students at Badger High School, will implement and instruct this financial literacy educational program.

Star Center Elementary School in Pell Lake, located at W1380 Lake Geneva Hwy, will be recognizing Veterans Day through a school-wide flag ceremony on Monday, November 11, 2019 at 9 a.m. followed by a breakfast for military personnel and their families. All students and staff will wear red, white, and blue or scout uniforms to recognize this important day of remembrance.

Star Center Elementary School was recognized today by U.S. Secretary of Education Betsy DeVos as one of 362 schools in the nation and one of eight schools from Wisconsin as an Exemplary Achievement Gap Closing National Blue Ribbon School for 2019. The recognition is based on a school’s overall academic performance or progress in closing achievement gaps among student subgroups.

What? Orchestra Rental Night. There will be a brief information meeting and then the students will have a chance to try the instruments and parents can set up the rental contracts as well as sign up for the Summer Orchestra Program. When? Thursday, May 30. Meetings at 4:30 and 5:30 pm. Where? LGMS Cafeteria. Who? All current 3rd, 4th and 5th graders are encouraged to attend.

Lake Geneva Schools announces the opening of a 3-Year-Old Preschool, Buzzing Bees, for the 2019 - 2020 school year. Buzzing Bees Preschool was established to provide quality early academic readiness, build a strong base around social-emotional well being and create a culture that will help foster pleasure in learning to young children.

Star Center 5th graders had the opportunity to run a city thanks to JA BizTown held Wednesday, February 27th in Milwaukee. At BizTown, students operate a bank, restaurant, city hall, newspaper, retail store and 10 other businesses. JA BizTown combines in-class learning with a day-long visit to a fully interactive, simulated town. Students leave understanding the relationship between what they learn in school and their participation in a local economy.

Welcome to the Six Flags® Read to Succeed Six Hour Reading Club! Your child’s school is participating in an exciting program that encourages students in grades K through 6 to read for fun. Read to Succeed is a free program sponsored by Six Flags Theme Parks. Every student who completes six hours of recreational reading before the school’s deadline listed on the bottom of this page is eligible for a free admission ticket, valid at the participating Six Flags Theme Park that the school has selected.
